The most important organs of NAKS are the Executive Committee, the departments and the advisory board. Several work groups and commissions have been created as advisory bodies for the Executive Committee.
Mw. S. Power - Staphorst, Community Development Worker
Mrs. Power-Staphorst has been a member of the NAKS Executive Committee since 1995. She is the co-founder of several NGO networks and works for different organizations. She also has membership in various national and international commissions and organizations. In January 2010 she took over as interim chairwoman, after the passing of the former chairwoman Mrs. Elfriede Baarn-Dijksteel. In July 2010 Mrs. Power-Staphorst was elected chairperson of NAKS.
Mr. L. Nijman, Staff Member of the Central Bank of Suriname
Vice-chairman and treasurer
Since 1993, Mr. Nijman administers the finances of NAKS. He is a staff member at the Central Bank of Suriname. As a representative of NAKS, he has also served as a member of the administration of the Stichting Volkshogeschool NAKS (Foundation People’s Community School NAKS) since 1993.
Mrs. G. Holband – Babel, teacher secondary education
Mrs. Gisela Holband-Babel was a teacher at Christus Koningschool for primary education and at the secondary level as well. She was the first woman to lead the Catholic Teachers Union. Now, Mrs. Holband is working fulltime as a Secretary for the Executive Committee of NAKS.
Mrs. M. Blank – Hew A Kee, civil servant at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing
Mrs. Blank- Hew A Kee has organized and coached social and economic activities in neighborhoods, villages and districts, educational activities, training and exchange projects, for NAKS members in Suriname. She also served as coordinator and coach of the cultural group for women Ala Kondre Women’s Group Uma Suma Prisiri.
Mrs. I. Burgzorg, retired civil servant of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing
Being a member since 1996, she is co-founder and chairwoman of the senior group NAKS “Kotomisi” (founded 05-10-1997). She has accompanied the group NAKS Kotomisi at several foreign visits.
Mr. H. Panka, civil servant at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing
Mr. Panka has been a member of the Organization for social community work NAKS since 1998. He has participated in national and international workshops, cultural shows and exchanges as a coordinator, coach or participant. Since 1996 he has been a chief committee member, and since April 2000 he has served as the manager of the music group NAKS Kaseko Loco. For this group he has organized tours to the Netherlands, Belgium and French Guiana.
Mr. E. Rudge, jurist, lecturer at the University of Suriname

As chairman of NAKS between 1994 and 1995, Mr. Rudge was the expert who got the organization back on track, when loyal members requested a halt to the deterioration of the organization back then. Mr. Rudge had to pass on his function due to study abroad pursuits. When he returned to Suriname in 1998, the organization welcomed him back as an advisor.
Ms. L. Peroti, music pedagogue, Director of Lisibeti Performing Arts

As a music pedagogue, pianist and chore leader Ms. Peroti leads the NAKS music school Mi Agida. For this school she developed a six year curriculum. She created departments in other parts of the country, like in the interior village Yaw-yaw.
